3/9/2004 edition Spring Carnival Racing Tips Betting horses resuming from a spell The Spring horses are now resuming in big numbers each week. No winning bets are guranteed in racing, but one thing is for sure. Take short odds about these horses and you will be disappointed. At Rosehill the Bart Cummings trained 4YO gelding Taikun resumed in a $100,000 Group 2 Handicap over 1100 metres. Taikun was backed from $2.25 to $2.00 and won well. But at Caulfield: 2. The Greg Eurell trained 4YO gelding Great Is Great resumed in a $75,000 4YO and upward set weights race over 1100 metres. Great Is Great started at $3.00 and finished a well beaten sixth in the field of eight. There's nothing unusual with these results. Horses resuming from spells are always risky betting propositions.
